Our 3rd Gulf Glass exhibition once again takes place in the UAE’s first established trade centre, the Expo Centre Sharjah, which has seen investments in excess of AED 13.5 million.

A modern, well situated complex, this venue is fully equipped to meet all exhibitors’ technical, space, graphic and communications needs. All staff, storage and production requirements are met from facilities on site, making for a smooth showcase experience.

Expo Centre Sharjah features temperature-controlled, column-free halls that offer functionality and convenience to exhibitors and there is wireless data and Internet and telephone connectivity throughout the complex.

Sharjah – Shooting Star
Sharjah itself is an ideal home for this series of events. Within the Emirates, it is important for business, important for building – and important for glass.

There were 6,000 new businesses established in Sharjah last year alone while the thriving Airport International Free Zone is now home to well over 3,000 enterprises. No surprise, then, that foreign trade revenues have been on the up and up for the past few years, leaping a massive 47.5% last year to top out at AED 43.5 billion.

The latest figures to be released also demonstrate why Gulf Glass continues to thrive in Sharjah – revenues from trade with other GCC countries grew in just one year by a phenomenal 84.6%, from AED 2.6 billion in 2006 to AED 4.8 billion in 2007.

GDP continues relentlessly forward, up over 24% last year to stand at AED 52 billion while recent announcements crucial to local business, including the glass manufacturers, have confirmed the construction of a 3 million square metre Sharjah Investment Centre and AED 41 million to be committed to the renovation and expansion of Sharjah City Centre.
